Lulubell Online Store & Print Pop Show

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Hello All,

The Disaster Tourism images from the Mad Science Gallery show are now up for sale at Lulubell’s online store. Not only can you purchase the original paintings but we’ve made all six images in the series available as prints for $40 each. Click on through and check it out!

Also, Lulubell is having a group show opening August 1st curated by Jerry Jordan. It’s called Print Pop and, as the title suggests, it will feature nothing but prints. I’m going to have 3 pieces in the show. So if you’re in the market from some affordable images, come to the opening August 1st from 6 to 9 pm!

Mad Science Opens This Saturday, July 11th!

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Hello Everyone!

I’m excited to finally say that Mad Science, my gallery show with Fabian Corona and Dave Carender, is opening this Saturday. It’s taking place at Lulubell Gallery and Toy Bodega in Tucson, AZ. There’s an opening reception from 6 to 9 pm.

Below are all of my pieces for the show with descriptions and prices. If you are interested in purchasing any of the pieces contact the gallery directly at (520) 622-5858.

The first 6 images are a series I’m calling “Disaster Tourism.” They are influenced by the kinds of vintage travel postcards that would tout various tourist destinations or roadside attractions. These images also include some sort of fantastical element that is somehow ruining the intended destination.

The right half of my wall contains the Disaster Tourism series.

Two Random New Things

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Hello All!

My wife bought me a Munny Tree Ornament this past Christmas. For those that don’t know, Munnys are customizable blank vinyl toys. You can get more information about them at the KidRobot website. For mine, since it was a Christmas gift, I decided to create a version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I finally got a chance to complete it and it’s below.

The nose is a glass bead created by my friend Elaine.

Secondly, I forgot to post the skateboard that I painted a few months ago! It’s for sale at my etsy shop so many of you may have already seen it. If not, it is posted below.

Also, for future reference, I have posted both of these projects in the Miscellaneous Gallery to the left.

Thanks for reading!

Figure Drawings

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Hey All,

I’ve found an open studio for life drawing here in Tucson called the Drawing Studio.

I’ve attended the past couple weeks and now I’ve updated my sketchbook thread over on the Ten Ton message boards with the results. Look for that thread to be updated on a regular basis as long as I can make it to each week’s session.

Be aware that the link above does contain mild drawn nudity if you want to steer clear of that sort of thing.
