An Antelope Adding on an Abacus!

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

In the animal kingdom, the superior brain power of the antelope causes all other animals’ (with the exception of the dolphin) self-esteem to crumble*. Here is a fellow that supports the argument beautifully by utilizing an abacus to assist with his addition. I don’t know about you but I certainly have no idea how to use an abacus. What an intelligent creature! And he shows such refinement by wearing an ascot with his jacket.

8 Spiders!

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

It has been way too long since I’ve posted here. So I’ll be posting just about every day this week to catch up on what I’ve been up to the past few months.

Let’s begin with something I did for fun just this past week. I wanted to play with text and readability. Hopefully the words aren’t too jumbled!

Cyclops

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Hey, did you know that the cyclops has just 1 eye? It’s true. Or… it’s as true as can be for a mythological creature.

A group of friends have been kind enough to work on an alphabet and letter set for my newly born son’s bedroom. I contributed the number 1.

Rapunzel! Updated!

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Original Post (See Below for Update):
Hello All,

I recently finished a huge 6 foot by 18 inch painting of Rapunzel’s Tower. In my version, Rapunzel is a scrappy red-head that’s just short of some hair so the prince can’t quite reach. Maybe next year he’ll be able to save her! Click any of the images below for really big versions so you can see more of the details.

This image was the result of more experimenting- painting oils over sealed gouache on watercolor paper. I’m pretty happy with how this process is progressing and I’m excited to see where it will go in the future. Feel free to contact me if you have questions about how I’m doing it.

I’ve also updated the Kids and Young Adult Gallery to the left to include them also.

Update: I’ve gotten some requests for a larger version of the image. Here’s a link to a huge version that’s about 800 kb.

You know what that means. If it’s December, then it’s Christmas!

Below is the image I painted for this year’s Christmas card.

I’ve also updated the Kid’s gallery to include it too.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
