Charity Auction!

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

Hello All!

I previously posted two small flowernaut paintings that I did for a charity auction. At the time I said I’d let everyone know when the auction has started. Well, guess what!?

The auction has started! It runs from today through May 5th.

The auction proceeds will go to the Payette Care and Rehabilitation. Located in Payette, Idaho, the activities coordinator at the facility has an extremely limited budget. One of the things she wants to do is get a larger TV so the residents with visual and hearing issues can enjoy the programs that they want to watch. I have heard a rumor that if enough money is raised, a new Wii game system may be in the resident’s future too. Since it’s a rehabilitation center, the physical activity that the Wii could provide would be helpful.

Please think about helping out some strangers in a small way by bidding on some items in the auction. Your small bid could greatly improve the quality of life of some folks who need the help.

Here’s the link to the auction on eBay.

Here are images of my paintings as a reminder.

The charity was organized with the amazing folks over at the Ten Ton Studios message boards.

Two More Flowernauts

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

Hey Everybody!

My last post had information about the gallery show, Almost True: Based on Real Events, that’s opening tonight. As a reminder it’s 6 to 9 pm at Lulubell Toy Bodega.

I just finished my paintings this morning, which means they aren’t dry. That also means I couldn’t put them on my scanner to get a good image. In lieu of a good scan, here are some photos. For my true events, I decided to do two moments from the Apollo Missions. One is Apollo 11’s first landing on the moon. The other is Alan Shepard playing golf during Apollo 14.

They are both 8.75 X 11.25 and will be selling for $150 each.

So these will be hanging at Lulubell for the duration of the month. If you can’t make it into the gallery but want to purchase one, they will be posted on Lulubell’s website by Monday.

If you live in Tucson, I hope to see you tonight!

This is the second one for the charity auction that I mentioned in my last post. When I have more details I’ll post them.

More Flowernauts

Here’s another image of astronauts pushing the boundaries of blossom exploration. These two pioneers are part of the Orchid Repair Unit.

Oil on Wood, about 3 X 6

I did this and one other little painting for a charity auction to benefit a rehabilitation center for the elderly. I don’t have all of the details about where and when it will be. When I know, you’ll know. I’ll also post the other painting in the next few days.

Happy Valentines Day!

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

Hello Everyone,

I did a little painting as a Valentine’s Day gift for my wife. A little astronaut exploring a rose. Click to make the tiny little guy bigger.

Rose-onaut

I had a blast doing this painting. My intention at this point is to do a bunch of little “flowernaut” images. The possibilities are endless. I’m not sure what I’ll do with them but they’d be fun to produce. Expect to see more of these over the next few months.
