Two More Flowernauts

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

Hey Everybody!

My last post had information about the gallery show, Almost True: Based on Real Events, that’s opening tonight. As a reminder it’s 6 to 9 pm at Lulubell Toy Bodega.

I just finished my paintings this morning, which means they aren’t dry. That also means I couldn’t put them on my scanner to get a good image. In lieu of a good scan, here are some photos. For my true events, I decided to do two moments from the Apollo Missions. One is Apollo 11′s first landing on the moon. The other is Alan Shepard playing golf during Apollo 14.

They are both 8.75 X 11.25 and will be selling for $150 each.

So these will be hanging at Lulubell for the duration of the month. If you can’t make it into the gallery but want to purchase one, they will be posted on Lulubell’s website by Monday.

If you live in Tucson, I hope to see you tonight!

Almost True: Based on Real Events

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

I’m showing in a group gallery exhibition that opens this Saturday, April 10th. Titled “Almost True: Based on Real Events,” all of the paintings are each artists’ interpretation of an actual occurrence. I’ve decided to interpret two of the big moments from the Apollo space program. Of course, that means more flowernauts! I’ll post them when I get them done as I’m not finished with either of them yet.

The show card below contains all of the pertinent information on where (Lulubell Toy Bodega), when (Saturday from 6 to 9) and who (20 artists!).

The image on the card is “Patrick Henry” by Roberta Gentry.

If you live in Tucson, I hope to see you Saturday!
